    Default fitting a single din

    I am going to do away with my cdr2500 to fit a single din sony unit with ipod connector..

    I just ordered a singledin facia plate from ebay. is it just a case of plug and play..my sony unit has a standard iso..

    though i would ask here before i pull it all out to see

    You will need an adapter lead for steering wheel controls...these are manufacturer specific...kenwood, sony, jvc etc

    Otherwise yes just plug and play...do make sure that the permanent 12v (Red) and Ignition live (black) are the correct way round, as I believe that vauxhall usually fits these the wrong way round compared to all other european cars with ISO plugs.

    nice one will look for a cable for the steering wheel contols..cheers

    If the head unit has standard iso connectors you will need an adaptor to connect it to the car. I got one from halfords for £30 this didn't make the steering wheel remotes work though.

    will have a look,the contol adapter in only a 5er from halfrauds for the sony units

    I think the loom from Halfrauds at £29.99 is a lead used to permit the installation of a parrot kit or telemute system. (car phone kits etc)....
    I never use Halfords...convenient but more of an over-priced toy shop!!

    15 years ago, they quoted £94 for a radiator, Vauxhall dealer only wanted £65 at the time.!!

    There are plenty of better quality ones available from Complexsolutions, found on ebay for £16...I used one to fit a CD70 into my Vectra A / Cavalier Mk3.
