Default preface full can cd70 into facelift

hey guys just bought a cd70 with matching paired cid from a 2004 veccy so i'm assuming preface but full canbus so im confident this will fit and work in my 07 facelift sri, will be using a gps ariel under the little centre speaker grill in the middle of the dash by the screen. but i have found something saying that the cid screens are a different shape on facelifts to prefaces so i was wondering:
will a preface cid fit in my centre vents (facelift)?
will i have to change to preface vents?
    will they fit?
can i get ones that have the chrome wheels like my facelift sri?
if not can i swap the wheels over vents to vents?

    cheers guys
    Gareth

I think it was me who said that the facelift (06 plate onward) screens are wider.

    I know this because I fitted a 2006 face-lift screen and vents to a pre-facelift (2005) Vectra - My wife's.
The vent surround on the facelift is also more rounded, but the air vents themselves are all the same size and are transferrable between dashes.

I think the standard facelift screens are the same size...therefore the pre-facelift colour screen should fit into the facelift airvent surround for non colour screens.

Just a two minute job to pop out the old screen and try your new one in it's place.

Remove trim strip and extract 8 x T25 torx screws (4 at the bottom lugs of the surround and 4 behind the display)

You may find fitting the aerial in the speaker hole a bit of a pig to feed through, even without the sun sensor fitted to some cars.

If your CD70 and CID are still paired, then there is a strange side effect of popping / crackling speakers after you have turned the car / radio off...but only for the first five minutes.

If its a CID and a CD70 that one i only think is made in widescreen.. so no need for the rest...

Yes the vents can be moved as you like.. ive got the chrome wheels on my prefacelift

Just to confirm that there are wide screen and standard shaped screens for the CID...

I bought a surround for the pre-facelift CID from Vx at £40, just to find that the surround was too tall and narrow (not wide screen)...
Part number was identical for my existing pre-facelift non-colour as the newly purchased colour screen surround. Even quoted that mine was a Pre-facelift 2005.

They wouldn't give a refund as it was correct to TIS and that I had done it as a "special order"

It's in the post, but the general thing was that I took my complete air vent surround out.

Now time to curse and scuff your nuckles.

I tied a piece of welding rod to the block and PVC taped it down to prevent too many bits sticking out to get caught up.

Fed the black square mag-mount block up between the air pipes, you will have a narrow vertical slot between them, that is just about wide enough to pull the block through on it's side.

Little wiggle to spin the block round to get it into the side of the speaker oriface.
I then screwed a metal plate onto one of the speaker screw points in the centre of the dash, and mag-mounted the block to it.

I connected up my Fakra plug to the back of the radio...of course.

Finally I coiled up the excess wire, taped it up so that it was tidy, and tucked it in next to the mag-mount aerial.

    Then refit speaker trim panel

And connect-up then refit the screen and airvent surround.

    any stiff wire will do!!
It allows you to manipulate and twist the block around the nooks and crannies.

Floppy wire or string can't do that.
