    Default newbie with a question

    Hi,

i'm new to this forum, ...
Im looking at getting a 2003/2004 Vectra C but cant decide between the

    2.2 DTI SRI(125hp)

    and the

    1.9 16V CDTI SRI(150hp).

Can you guide me on the pro's and cons on both

The CDTI is the more powerful modern deisel in the vectra, but the DTI although quoted at 123hp is probably nearer the 140BHp.

Being a CDTI owner I would say watch out for Manifold Issues, EGR issues and Injector loom problems with the latter although they give great performance if you source one that is free from those defects.

From when I was looking at getting one, all the reviews said try to go for the CDTI engine, unless money is tight, then go for the DTI

It all depends on the budget...
There's nothing wrong with the dti's i have had:
    Astra estate dti
    Zaffy dti
    Vec b 2.2 dti
    Vec C 2.0 dti
Although people say the fuel pumps are fragile, i have had no bother

I'm currently driving a 1.9 cdti & it's in a different league altogether, quieter, quicker & more economical.
