    Default question about stereos

just looking at some of the different factory fitted stereos for the vectra's, CDR 2005, CD 30 & CD 70 NAV.
does anyone know if its possible to take out a CDR 2005 or CD 30 and replace it with a CD 70 NAV? obviously that's the main unit and the screen on the dash.

Right there is a two way answer on this...

Regarding CC20, CD30, CDC40, CD50 and CD70...these are all interchangeable as long as you get matching screen and head-unit.
    If upgrading from CD30...
Upgrading to CDC40 will require a Graphic Info Display (and possibly a DAB unit)
Upgrading to CD70 Navi will require either a Mono Graphic display or a colour screen with additional nav aerial / loom and video cable.

If upgrading from CDR2005, then you wil again need a head-unit and screen as detailed above, but you will also need to rewire / reconfigure the wiring looms.
Also the CDR2005 uses an ISO connector and the CD30, CDC40 and CD70 all use the Quadlock type connector...I personally would use a PARROT / ISO2CAR / SOT conversion lead, and cut this to suit the ISO plug from the car and the quadlock socket on the radio.

    Try searching for the thread Fitting a CD70 to a non-canbus vehicle (It's one I did )
Also all Vauxhall's ISO plugs from 1986 to 2004 are basically the same wiring configuration from pins 1 to 16 (speakers and power distribution and ABS speed sensor)!!
