Default first time ever a sump plug has beaten me

drove the car up onto two blocks to give me enough room to change the oil, and couldnt budge the sump plug, I could see the torx head starting to chew it up so had to back off, as I dont have a replacement plug......grrrrrrrr

Does your sump plug not have a hex around the outside?

Nope its a flush round type with a torx socket in it.wish it did! didnt have this problem when I changed the oil before, but since then it went to the stealers to get a stamp, and they must have been having a laugh!

Not much help to you I know but when you go to get a new one see if you can get the one that has a hex on it. Mine has the torx bit in the middle and a hex round the outside

did mine today as well. Sump plug needed T45 bit and a fair bit of oomph to shift it, but it did go eventually. Initially tried to shift it with a small ratchet, but resorted to it's bigger, longer brother to undo.

Unfortunately I didnt have enough room to resort to hammering in a bigger bit, plus I didnt have a new plug...........grrrrrr, and its pi55ing down!

T45 bit fitted perfect, but just needed to use the bigger ratchet handle to shift it.

Also didn't help that VX parts initially gave me the wrong oil filter on the first visit - told em it should be a paper element, but the computer decided otherwise.
