Thumbs down Sat Nav stopped Working Grrrr

After having a new alternator fitted, picking the car up and getting the car home, i didnt think about checking the sat nav, oops it didnt work. Unit turned on when pushing the eject button but disc didnt eject, what going on, no info on the screen either.
Off to Vauxhall today, there gonna plug it in and hopefully sort it.
WHY WOULD IT STOP WORKING ANYWAY ??
Battery was only disconnected for about 2 hours.

Maybe they haven't properly / completely programmed the new alternator into the car...

Alternatively have they killed one of the fuses in the dash board.
Check fuses FI1, FI7, FI12 and FI19..these are various feeds for the infotainment system and the BCM...
You didn't state if the headunit itself was working or not...

There is also a 15A fuse in the back of the radio headunit.

There is no need to disturb the wiring in the dash...they should only have moved the ash-tray to access the diagnostic / programming socket.

Assuming Vauxhall fitted the alternator, then they should be willing to sort this free of charge...

Vauxhall have looked at it and are saying now that unit has to come out because the sat nav will not even take a disc. There is defo no disc in the unit. Car is just out of warranty as well. The radio and cd player are fine, just the sat nav. Have checked all fuses and all ok.
Does this mean im gonna be without a unit whilst they sort it....

Is wouldnt of mattered if your car was still in the last 2 years of the manufacturer warranty as radio/cd player/bluetooth etc are only guaranteed for the first year of the car's life.

Hope you get it sorted and its just a fuse

It will probably mean that they will send it away...
Give sharp intake of breath and a few tut tut tuts, then they will say "don't know mate" and offer a recon unit for the same prce as a new radio...

That's the joy of vauxhall....oh and I forgot, you will probably have to pay about £45 for the diagnostic on the radio that they can't fix..
Probably some little presence detector arm inside that has become mis-aligned or broken...but they wont think of a simple fix-it.
Better to get the customer to cough up £1200 or what ever scandalous figure a replacement head-unit is these days.

I love Vauxhall they are great!!

Sorry for negative view point but I know how unhelpful Vauxhall in Stockport and Stretford are...

    Default Sat nav update

Car been to vauxhall, they removed infotainment system and stripped it (whatever) said they couldnt find the problem and said the unit will have to go away for repair, could be 7-10 days. Got to drive round for 7-10 days with no music....... Not happy.
