Default Has your DTI pump failed? (DTi tuning Mythbuster)

After alot of threads regarding the failure of DTi pumps and about not tuning the DTi due the pump failing I have decided to set up a poll to see what experiences people have ACTUALLY had with their DTi's.

The poll relates ONLY to the 2.0DTi and the 2.2DTi Vectra C not the Vectra B as the pumps are slightly different.

I have also set one option so that non dti owners or people who do not want to vote can see the results so as not to ruin the poll and keep it as a genuine reflection on dti pump failures.

Also if you could post how many miles you have done with the tuning box or how many miles had done before the cars pump blew it would be much appreciated.

Thanks for helping me with this to try and put this myth to bed

    I don't have a dti any longer...

Although the pumps on the B are slightly different they are still vp44 & allegedly fragile lol...

    However, i have had 3...
Zafira 2000 2.0 dti standard i ran this for 2 year & 30k miles no bother at all.
VecB 2001 SRI 2.2dti remapped i ran this for 2 year & 30k miles no bother at all.
VecC 53plate 2.0dti standard i ran this for 2 year & 25k miles no bother

My mate is a taxi driver, he has a 53plate 2.0dti he's had it from almost new (ex demo) he has over 250k miles on his motor & only issue was dmf

True they are the VP44 but they are the PSG5 pumps which have the combined ecu and are more difficult to replace, still good to hear some good history though so thanks bud

    117,000 miles on my 2.2dti.
    Got it with about 80,000.
Have had a steinbauer tunning box on it for the past 2 yrs with no problems. I usually add millers additive to the diesel, some say it helps the pump but not sure.

This is perfect guys, just trying to see how frequent these things have problems to get rid of the myth that you shouldn't tune the DTi

Lol i knew that mate but I know it can get annoying if you want to keep tabs on the poll. Also some folk just click any one just to see the results so thought it best to make it an option
