    Default Ebay scam????...help!

Hello, a bit of advice needed.

A couple of days ago i put my psp and a few games online, it sold within a few hours of being listed when a buyer hit "Buy It Now".

The buyer is listed as being london but has no feed back.

I got a message from her asking what the condition of the item was etc...

the i got and email saying she wants it posted to her son in.....yes, you guessed it.....Nigeria!

But...the paypal payment was for £185, the psp sold for £85 and she said the rest is to cover postage.

I havent accepted payment because i want be sure that this isnt some scam! (my card was cloned a couple of weeks back and used in London!)

Any advice very much apprieciated...i dont really give a **** about my feedback so im not worried about losing my 100%...rather that than get fleeced!

    Thanks
    Edd

Reject it mate and then leave / report her, leave feedback for her, what you said above, relist the item and state it wont be shipped outside UK

People can see for themselves what kind of seller you are , from feedback, if she says " wont ship item to nigeria " genuine ebayers are not daft

I've never quite understood the whole Nigeria scam thing, but I too won't ship outside the UK.

no person in their right mind would pay that much for postage, if it looks too good to be true it probably is. Scam imo.

Yes mate, just report the transaction through the ebay system. I have been using eBay since 2003 and that sounds as dodgy as they come. As said before, who would pay £100 for postage????

It's a way of you sending the item then the payment won't clear wonce you have sent it.

    Leave well Alone Mate

P.S I Block Buyers from overseas automatically so they get rejected as soon as they try and bid.

Reminds me of a mate who sold a modem (56k dial up!) on e-bay, guy who bought it was from somewhere in the far east & agreed to pay the postage of about £80, Paypal'd all ok sent the item then a week or so later Paypal took the payment back as it was on a stolen card. My mate sent the modem by Royal Mail not DHL as requested so he didn't lose out much.

Cheers for the advice and quick responses guys.

    Quick update....

upon further inspection ,the paypal email was actually a fake!...a good one , but the email address wasnt right and no mention of any transactions on my paypal.

So, i have reported them to Ebay, and (probably shouldnt have done) have sent him/her/it an email...i wont say what it said...but it was very nice!

The buyers name is donna.buyer18765 keep well clear!!!

Thanks again for the advice...im taking the psp up to Game and seeing what they'll give me for it...much safer!

you can set requirements for buys on your auctions by the way so if someone has less than 5 feedback they have to get approved by your first. Also not to let them bid if they have a certain number of -tive feedback recently. look into it.
