Default Leather seats - a must read

I come across this on the bay

Apparently, they are actual seat outer skins, tailor made obviously from leather and fit very tightly over the original seats.....

They only list the Zafira, although I have enquired and they do infact make the same covers for the Vec.

Also, the ebay picture looks to good to be true, would you think they are a cover ?? I have been assured the pic is that of the covers fitted to a Zafira. From the pics, the only saggy bit I can see is the drivers head rest ?!?!?

    What do you think ?

These seat covers are crafted with the the highest grade PU Leather (Leather look) material, that rivals that of original leather.Backed with high density 7mm Foam for added comfort and with its waterproof, stain proof and tough material these covers will keep your seats looking new for years and also cover nicely your worn out and damaged original seats with a reasonable price without upho;stering.

It's a synthetic leather where they bond polyurethane to a leather or synthetic leather bottom layer.

PU leather iirc is a very good leather replica, unless you know what to look for you'd think it was real leather. Looks pretty good in the pics

Without stitching or glueing them to your seats you won't get that kind of finish.

Ther's no way that they would fit/stay fitted without being fixedto the seats correctly, the standard VX seats are stapled on the seat where they join the bolsters, clipped under the seat base & fixed tight around the rear upright.

IMHO the only way to get a proper fit is to get them done properly in leather at a retrimmers, ok it's going to cost 9-10 times the cost of these but people will be falling over themselves to buy them when you want to sell the car. I had a set of SRi seats done at CCS in Leicester, did 50,000 miles in the car with them fitted, sold them for the asking price within 1/2 an hour of advertising & when the guy who had them off of me was asking if he should sell them or leave them in the car was inundated with "1st dibs" leading to the thread being closed.

Moral of the story - THERE's NO SUBSTISUTE FOR QUALITY , although spending £1400 on a retrim is out of most peoples budget, it's worth keeping an eye out for genuine VX leather seats complete for as little as £300 on the evil-bay

Think i coulc collect a full set in the rear of the Vec hatch if I already remove the rear seats before collection ?
