Window wiper problem??

I wonder if anyone can help me i've owned my 1.9cdti sri 2006 plate now for 2 and a half years and this has happened to me about 4 or 5 times in that time period with months inbetween and everythings fine.

Driving along the road everythings fine then the window wipers just stop dead (when its pi55ing of rain of course) lol then half an hour later they work fine again and carry on for months with no problem. So this has happened a few times but of course the car is now out of warranty and i've had this into the dealers for this but as usual they said they would check it and when they do they work fine.

Now today they done the same thing again, also when this happens the window washers don't work either, the rear washer and window wiper works fine. Could this be a relay thats causing this maybe if its sticking or something? if so does anyone know which relay it is and where to find it on the car as the handbook tells me nothing about relays, only fuses, one of my mates said it might be the whole control panel with the stocks coming out of it that could be at fault, is this possible? ( I hope not £££)

This is driving me nuts and in this weather i really need them fixed asap

I'm not 100% sure on this but here goes

Engine bay 1

7/ K6_X125 should be windscreen wipers motors relay (on/off)

10/ K5_X125 should be windscreen wipers motors relay (low/high wiper speed)

it may help in tracking the problem down

Been one or two issues with these tbh, mainly the motor has packed up, needs replacing, not a bad job, if you can find one in the breakers.

Cheers folks ive swopped those two relays round in the piccy above as there both exactly the same and still no joy so would anyone suggest its the motor then that could be caused this intermittent problem??

Thanks for the help folks but i bought a replacement main motor yesterday and fitted it last night and the problem is now fixed and everythings all working again woo hoo!!

Glad you got it sorted mate, Its a case of needs must in these conditions. If you can clean your wiper blades up, using vinegar water, & clean the screen, I use quick detailer on ALL my windows too, so the front screen gives me good clear vision in all wather.

It used to be intermittant but the other day when this happened they gave up all together!! lol
