Default Arnold Clark & TC Switch

    Guys,

Car was in for some warranty work (engine management light coming on etc) and while in i thought id mention that my TC switch would not disable the traction control - never bothered getting it TECH2'd when i fitted the switch.

They forgot to do it on Thursday so asked for it back Today.

Theyve been on the phone asking if it has been to any other garage recently for any work with the brakes.......

When i told them the only garage it had been to was theirs they then said they would have to speak to Vauxhall for more information....

Are we all 100% sure that all the TC needs to operate is a setting in TECH2? All the gubbins were behind the switch and it lights up in the dark....

    Cheers

Even if you have the multi-plug behind the blanking slot, and, it light up when the main lights are on, it may not work even with tech2.......sorry.

Oh dear, that sounds like....Sir we've been through the cars records and it wasn't listed on the spec sheet, have you fitted it yourself? ........ err yes .....well I'm going to have to charge you the time, thats £161.32 + VAT and a drink for the mechanic to compensate his bonus time he lost.

If you are still reading, deny all knowledge of the switch, say it was there when you bought the car, unless you got it new that is.

    haha, i aint daft guys,

told them that it was fitted when i purchased the car through network Q - however i had made the mistake of saying that it "had" worked...........they obviously forgot that i had said that and made out of the car park in a cloud of diesel dust - left my mrs corsa there so need to go back under the cover of darkness no charge........

    mechanics notes state,,,
    traction control operating ok
    switch tested ok
    earth tested ok
    ecu reprogrammed
vauxhall tech support advises this is a non functioning system......
    WTY Approved.....

wish someone had told me before, i thought it was as simple as a setting on the computer.....

    cheers
