0-Large smile ......every time it's driven
Well from what I've been reading up, the 2.0T is far more tunable than the VXR.
Regal, they quote what figures they like. I bet on anyone elses RR it won't touch 299!
299! They should find 1 bhp by changing air filters and claim 300
Stil, it sounds tasty..
Done a bit of research on the old 2.0t a while back

Its already been done. The Opel GT has been running the same engine for a while. It might be worth some of you NET guys doing a bit of research as the Insignia Lump is still based on the same lump you guys have, small differences like larger water jacket, turbo ect, but it just shows you what can be achieved. I'm surprised no one has deleted the balancer shafts in the NET. Its a 10bhp increase in the Z22SE so should see you with more in the NET.

Opel performance department (Not OPC) who develop the non OPC/VXR engines ect are running two Insignia 2.0T's that have been re-mapped with Courtenay/Klassen software, these cars have been doing evaluation at 270bhp round the Nurburgring against the 2.8T Insignia.
Opel are considering dropping the 2.8T with the exception if the VXR. The tests proved positive, with the 270bhp 2.0T being quicker, better handling, lower emmisions and more economical than the 260bhp 2.8T.
It also have 30lb/ft more than the 2.8T.
I am not a fan of Regals, but for once I am inclined to believe what they are claiming as the Insignia 2.0T appears to be producing more than the standard 220PS.
