Well, I think we'll all agree that PVS 2006 was a massive success for Vectra-C.
I got out of my pit at 05.00hrs to get myself at the gates for 06.30hrs and joined the queue with the rest. I was about 15 cars from the front, so I thought I'd done quite well; until I arrived on the stand and was confronted with 'What time do yer call this?'. No comment from me!
I must admit that the bog in the middle of the stand was very dissapointing and I think that the PVS staff could of done something about it before the day. Maybe even putting some straw on it would of helped, but hey ho. A big thank you to Spikey (Neil) for helping me to arrange the cars around this mess and also Duncan and Andy for their valuable input.
I remember asking who was putting the Gazebos up, and suddenly they appeared from nowhere as if by magic. I didn't even see you guys putting them up; you must be the formula one gazebo team. Excellent work.
Once the stand was set I had a look around and was overwhelmed by the amount of detailing that was going on. My personal award for attention to detail has to go to Payney (Nick) for his use of a toothbrush. You car was gleaming matey and is a credit to you. A special thanks has to go to Drinky (Chris) and Mrs D (Louise) for all their efforts in putting together the information board, providing the balloons and the Vx flag. I handed my vote for best car on the stand to my sister who chose Mrs D's car which I thought was a very worthy winner. Well done Louise. Ian_C's car was looking good, it was just a shame we couldn't have seen it on our stand for a little longer but I understand why he was on the Irmscher stand and fully agree with his decision.
What can I say about Big Phil that hasn't already been said before. You and your team (Dwabo, Mini Caterman, Mrs GSi & GSi3.2) did us all proud. The food was magnificent matey as always. 10/10.
There was a few people who I really wanted to put a face to a name, to name but a few - CDTi (John), Spikey, and GG. I think I managed to get around most of you, but if I didn't then please accept my apologies. I even managed to have a brief chat with Nutron when he visited the stand.
Me and my family had a awesome day, and I would like to thank each and every one of you for helping to make the day what is was. I'm overwhelmed!
At the moment I don't know if I'll be making it to Billing or TRAX as the car may be going soon, (I've still got my eye on a certain Audi A4) but if I don't make it then I'll be there in spirit.
Here's to another fantastic summer.
Alex
