Inspection tomorrow......

After the hassle with the manifold i'm finally getting an inspection done by the finance company.

I had the car back at the dealer at the end of September for them to check it and they said there was nothing wrong but they would get an inspection done by a third party. I went back for it and the guy refused to show me the report and just said there was nothing wrong and he put the actuator rod back on, which came off a few miles later.

Anyway i waited a month before phoning the finance company who informed me that the dealer has gone bankrupt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So i'm assuming that they didn't get an inspection done or found out the manifold is goosed and couldn't afford to pay the repair bill.

Black Horse are sending an inspector out tomorrow but what do i say to them and what will they be checking? The spanner light hasn't been back on for a while but the car still feels sluggish and i have to really floor it before i get any performance - and there is also a smell of exhaust fumes inside the car if i've been on the motorway and then in slow traffic.

Tam ask them to check for play in the swirl pots (what the rod connects to) and check especially for up/down movement. That should not happen and take a copy of this to the guy:

An excellent outcome if you are at this stage
Equally, it shows the advantage of taking a car on finance, even if it is the absolute minimum

Don't say anything to the engineer, just simply present the car
Take any and all letters, but put them in a large brown A4 envelope
Advise the engineer you have all letters of correspondence, if they need them (which they shouldn't)

Once the engineer has been they will report back to the finance company, and then back to you
This should take no more than 5 business days

I had to go this route on a previous car
The outcome was the finance agreement was cancelled, less the mileage costs at 8p per mile
I had to make arrangements to collect all my property out of the vehicle, return all keys, V5, and service book
I then got a bill for £1400 which was then transferred to the replacement finance on the next car (one of the disadvantages of being a high mileage driver and losing a car early in the contract)

The guy came about 11 this morning and knew straight away what the problem was!!

We went for a drive and everything i've explained here happened and he said there's deffo a problem with the car.

Just need to wait and see what happens next.

On another note i've got another problem............. going over speed bumps i get a wierd clunk from the front suspension and then a sort of rubbing ticky noise which gets faster as i slow down............. any ideas??
