I was given a 12v tyre inflator a few years ago, and used it a few times on a puncture until the replacement tyre arrived

Its great if you walk round the car and find a tyre is completely flat
However it takes at least an hour to get a tyre FULLY inflated

The trick is to inflate a tyre to about 25PSI, which takes about 30 minutes
Then drive to the nearest place with an air machine to complete the task
Obviously if one is near than this is suitable, however if not then you will have to fully inflate the tyre

    Finally is the NOISE
There is serious danger of waking the neighbours if you use this machine between 23:00 and 07:00

I bought one. It was a complete waste of time. Took for ever to inflate a tyre.

a lot of the "decent ones" are now designed to work in conjucton with a tyre sealant and pressurises the cannister to pump into the system. they work like this now as most of the older pressure based sealant cannisters have a 1 year shelf life and generally run out of puff less than half way through impregnating the tyre or are not used correctly by the user

    Great in principle
However many tyre places won't touch a tyre that has been treated with this
If they do, then you are looking at some extra wallet emptying

There are some good ones out there, but as said the cheap ones are not up to much best to buy the best you can afford.
