    Question Boost bhp

    Hi all,

I'm sorry I haven't been around for a while, been in hospital for quite a bit actually. Besides that I am not too knowledgeable and I am not able to help out the way some of you guys can, so I tend to hang around and take in your wisdom. Speaking of wisdom. I have recently driven my son's 1.9 Vectra Estate and was impressed at its power, especially from a start - he said it had been 'chipped - and it made my 02 Vectra 2.0 DTI LS look decidedly snail like in comparison. Now I am no speed freak, but I do like to get a move on. So I was wondering if I could have my engine chipped and where would I get it done. I live in Liverpool. I would be obliged for any advice. I apologise if this, or a similar question has been answered, but I have looked hard and was not able to find anything.

    Cheers,

    Tony.

Ask your son where he got his done! Other than that I'm afraid I can't help. A google search will probably come up with something?

He said it was like that when he bought it. I've checked Google, but I'll keep looking. Thanks for your reply.

Hi Mate I have the same engine as you..

There is a 'chip' out there but will only take it up to 125BHP.

IMHO its prob a better idea to go buy the more powerful car rather than put extra stress on that fuel pump of ours that cost £2k to replace when they go pop

I spent quite alot of time, e-mailing different companys for my car. (same as yours)

You cant get a plug and play system, its a hardwired system. You can get them remapped too. This is the company that i am going for, quite a bit of info about the fuel pumps too. http://www.ecochiptuning.co.uk/index.html

Think yours will be the vp44 pump.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, which is why you don't see me hanging around the diesel tuning section much these days.
