Well, a little while back I took off my EGR valve an gave it a clean! The side of the intake manifold it attached to was caked in thick soot.
Not feeling confident to deal with the intake manifold, I left it well alone after an EGR facing surface clean out of the intake manifold and cleaning out of the EGR.
All was put together, but still had the flat spot on 1st gear under 2k revs and also the wobbling/uneven idle.
Read up on this Wynns EGR3 cleaner, did my research. It arrived yesterday, and today I chucked the stuff into my intake after the maf sensor by removing the flexi pipe and keeping the revs at 2k when spraying in. Some will disagree with this and state to put it in after the intercooler and poss at the point of entry for the intake manifold after the intercooler. I wasnt so technical so being wary of the maf sensor, I put it in the pipe left hand side of the engine, in a pipe after the flexi pipe between maf sensor and engine.
It sounded horrible on being placed into the car, got a little alarmed, but persevered.
There is NO flatspot on 1st gear set off, and the idle does not wobble, it is smooth! My car is more perky and the turbo pulls stronger on acceleration. This now feels like a car I test drove in the dealership before buying my car privately...Result!
I cant vouch for everyones experience of this product, only mine. My car 72k miles 150 cdti, egr has been cleaned out previously prior to this additive used.
Go try it if you want to. I did, these were my results.
