No, its just a low speed trip wth a cold engine
Equally, day temperatures are colder as well

    The extremes would be :
summer night, no passengers, hot engine
winter day, four passengers, cold engine

    However, keep an eye out

the engine was hot as i had already been a few places before i left the house to go to morrisons. i then filled up with petrol later i just put £10 in and it went up to 60 miles, done a few more miles 10 to be precise and it had gone down to 38 i was really anoyed but kept my cool and stayed at a steady pace i then watched as the miles went back up all the way to 50 miles. i just can't be botherd with the comp anymore i might just take it out and put a clock in it's place lol .

The comp screen only updates itself every 10 mile i think it is. So if you were driving on a A road achieving good mpg then the reading will be quite high.

Once you start driving short journeys and stop start the display will re calculate on the driving you are doing at present. Hense why it drops.

The only way you'd lose too much fuel is:

    A) A fuel line leak (highly dangerous and extremely unlikely)
    B) Over fuelling (but the car would run like a bag of spanners, if at all)

Ignore the comp, it's a pile of poo

do seem a bit odd these trip computers, mine sits around the 31.8 mpg but the average over distance reads about 60mpg with the distance showing around the 1400 mile mark!!
