Default Buying a high mileage CDTI 150?

What are the drawbacks of buying a high mileage CDTI 150? The one i am looking at has covered 120k and says it has had the cambelt, DMF/clutch and inlet/swirl valve replaced. Is there anything else i should be warey of?

    Thanks Tom

well when mine failed the eml light was on and the car would only run on 3 cylinders temp fix is to cable tie the lead tight or get the replacement lead from the stealers about 11 quid

    Tom,
a mate of mine bought a preface 1.9 last year with 145k on the clock... he's still got it, it pulls really well & his only issue so far was a leaking shocker

    excellent thanks bud.

i suppose the options are buy a low miler and expect to have those above parts replaced or buy a high miler and know they probably already have been done!

    I agree
Buy a low mileage at a higher cost and expect some wear and tear eventually
    OR
Buy a high mileage at a lower cost and expect continual wear and tear failures

    I prefer the former with a long-term warranty (3 years / 120K miles)
In the final year of ownership, once the warranty has expired, I then watch the costs
I know there will be some, but in effect the car has paid for itself in the first three years
Once it goes above £2000, or am advised a major repair bill is imminent, I start looking for a replacement

It happened with my first Vectra B, the air con pump failed shortly after the warranty expired
The book labour was four hours, but they did it in just under one hour (rather than strip the front of the car and lift it up, they just rotated it vetically and pulled it straight down), however the pump itself was £700
At the next service I was advised the front suspension bushes were near the end of their life, and the quote was £1800
Equally, a good time to sell the car "just serviced"

If the items you have described have been replaced, then I would buy with confidence.
