Default What do you guys think i should do ??

Sorry for the long thread but.... in may this year i had my vectra Mot'd by a nationwide garage & it failed on the drivers side wishbone, i also had an advisory that the inner track rod on the driver side was worn & had play on it. i paid for the wishbone to be replaced by the Mot centre which cost me around £140 quid. a few days after this i removed the drivers side wheel to replace a missing screw on the undertray & to my horror the rear bolt on the wish bone that pulls it into the rear bush was completely slack. I felt sick at the thought as i'd been driving around for a couple of days with our then 4 month old daughter & if anything had happened... Anyway i tightened the bolt & wrote to the head office about what i'd found wrong, they issued me with a free interim service which i've just had done today, i asked them if anything was wrong with the car & they said all was fine. i mentioned about the advisory play on the inner track rod end & i got a blank look, they said that they didn't find anything wrong. which brings me to the question, did they just change the oil, fill the washer bottle & send me on my way without doing any of the checks they say they do, i'm tempted to take this further or should i just let this go ? . the most annoying thing about it for me is that the company in question is backed by the AA

Not a nationwide... but a local, and i mean local garage - opposite side of road and we used to go drinking with boss...

But missus took her saxo in for M.O.T, failed with all sorts and water contamination etc... anyway left it a week to get quotes, took it back to them to fix after couldn't find cheaper. the asked for the failure sheet etc and she'd lost it... they lost there's so quick retest and it only failed on a quarter of the things!!

Dodgey garage trying to make money of friends or a lazy retest who knows... never used since...

Id take it further too, they have a duty of care to ensure you car is given back to you in a safe and drivable condition, especially as your driving round with a baby on board. If id have left a gas appliance in an unsafe condition after servicing it in a customers house id be in big trouble, i know mistakes can happen but omg . The garage u mention do all our mot and servicing work on our works vans, had a lot of trouble with them (good job its the company that pay for it and not me) funny how every service they say our vans need new disks and pads.. also ( and this is a bit sad) but Ive marked the oil filter when my vans been in for a service and its returned still with the old filter wouldn't surprise me if they just topped the oil up. id deffo be writing a letter if i was u buddy.

Just posted my letter to the Nationwide chaps tonight about the isues i've had with them. since my origional post i've just realised they havent even filled in my service book or given me the service check sheet that they promote on their website & whoever lubricated the door hinges was a complete fool as he's used some sort of spray & it's everywhere, i'm also not convinced that they have even removed the wheels to check the brakes as the wheels were quite dirty when it went in & there aint a single paw print on them. i'll see what happens...
