    Default Bird noises!

Got a sound coming from the rear, what sounds like birds cheeping when I'm mobile, doesn't speed up the faster I go, just stays at the same pace, any ideas?

Check the boot to see if you have a bird in it?

Baffles in exhaust loose or exhaust heat shield loose or touching exhaust?

Give the tailpipe a bang with your hand to see if the noise replicates itself.

My car did this. The rear shocks were knackered (one leaking and one dry)and it was one of them that was sqeaking pretty badly. The shocks were replaced and the rear of the car is silent now - and handles a lot better too.

Note that the shocks may look OK and still pass the MOT bounce test but still need replacing. I thought mine looked OK but they obviously weren't.

A tendancy for the rear end to slide on corners - especially when going fast and/or on knackered road surfaces is a good indication of rear shocks that need replacing.

Get it checked out properly first though to avoid replacing the wrong things - it could be springs, bushes, anti-roll link bars, etc...
