can you post the fault code to give us a better idea of what the fault would relate to ?? has the cars engine management light come on
    - have you experienced any loss of performance - have you changed your fuel supplier, any unusual noises???
if you can answer the above then i'm fairly sure we can give you a little more back

i dont know what the fault code was all the garage have told me is that the recorded fault code was for the turbo bypass valve.
the engine light did come on for a short while on the wife
then when i was driving the car the day after there was no boost of the turbo as the car was as slow as my corsa however after a few stop starts the turbo started boosting again .
Hope this help i have look on google and it appears that the bypass valve is the same as a dump valve so can i just fit a nice forge item?

Part number 55354158, about £25 from Vauxhall dealers; same part number for Saab dealers who are more likely to have it in stock (it is a Saab engine after all).

Here's what Wiki says about dumpvalves and bypass valves:

A bypass valve is a more elegant solution to this problem by allowing the turbo to "freewheel" when the throttle is closed (equalizing the pressure on both sides of the turbo). Unlike a dump valve a bypass valve can be used at multiple boost settings without reconfiguration. bypass valves are sometimes incorrectly called dump valves because they serve a similar function, but they are very different solutions to the same problem.

Had another thought on whether you can use a dump valve instead of the bypass valve - the ECU would still recognise the bypass valve as either broken or missing, so would probably put the engine into limp mode.

Hope you dont mind me jumping in here.
I have also the same fault on my 2.0T the code is P0034.
The symptoms are exactly the same.
Refferrring to this By-Pass valve, can someone shed some light on to where it is located on the engine?
After googling for an hour it seems the rubber diaphram is prone to go on these, so if some one could point me in the right direction i will do a how to guide for future reference on both how to replace the diaphram and also the whole unit. Personally i will probably fit an aftermarket one with springs and pistons rather than rubber.
    Thanks,
    Mark.
