If i get a lead from fleabay to communicate bweteen my car and the laptop could I use TIS 2000 to read fault codes - what about having a crack at enabling the GID myself - presumably if i mess it up the dealer could reset whatever I did if I stick only to the infotainment section!? lol

There are equipment that can be used to read/clear faultcodes. Non besides Tech2 works with TIS 2000.

Well not all dealers know how to sort out mess done by others.

Theres 1 product that can code some parts of the car. but that cost a bit http://www.ilexa.co.uk/content/category/2/5/2/

The stuff you get on ebay.. let me say it this way.. would you trust cracked software to mess with your car.. as that what you get on ebay. And you will get NO help on here.
