    Default Fans not working on 1 2 & 3

    Replaced resistor pack, changed pollen filter, unblocked drain dry as a bone, fan spins freely and work on no4. But still not working on 1,2 & 3. I tried the new resistor pack in the harness hanging out and not in the blower will it matter am getting really ****** of with it now. PLEEEEAAASE help me

    might be the resistor pack was not only burnt out but also taken the fan unit with it -

    0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

    But would'nt that mean the fan wouldn't work at all? Just guessing here, is there more electric parts in the fan unit mate?

    the fans are controlled by the resistor pack - but may be that the fastest speed is all the unit has left

    you need to have the resistor fitted in place bud
    VXR IS FOR LIFE NOT JUST FOR THRILLS !

    There is also a relay which is prone to failure, cant remember the relay number but its located behind the panel accessible when you open the passenger door.

    the fan works its just the resitor has gone open circuit

    took the panel off like you said, and your right there are a load of fuses behind there, and one big orange fuse, but wouldn't have a clue which is which as there are no numbers or a diagram. Cheers mate will investigate....

    There was a extensive thread on this problem a while ago, it also contained some images of the electrical circuit for the fan speed control which I uploaded for the member who was having the issues, showing all the relays etc. In that members case only certain fan speeds were working. He had already changed the resistor pack, and in his case it turned out to be a relay.

    So it may be worth while doing a search for the thread.
