use 5/30 GM oil normally, but on my work one i use 10/40 as i changed it over 10k

Air filter, pollen filter (when needed), oil filter, (fuel filter every 20k or so).

TO change fuel filter you need to remove it and put it in a vice or somewhat to get a grip to undo the lid, no need to refill it afterwards as the diesel pump fitted in the tank will pump diesel into it and purge the air. May need a few key turns to do it.

Mines all done off the axle stands for draining the oil, the oil filter is a pig to get at. I fit the socket on from underneath with the ratchet attached then lean over the engine to get to it as access to turn it from underneath is non-existant

To add the that, I would get a copy of the haynes manual to use as reference and also for torque settings. There are quite a few how 2 on the site here also like how to replace brake fluid, clean the EGR etc.

I agree about the oil filter easy to make a mess with where it is situated, just make sure you use axel stands or ramps if under the car and keep safe

maybe worth investing in a spare sump plug too in case it starts to round off whilst removing it.
