Wiper stalk and display

Does anyone know, if you change the wiper stalk (one with all the buttons on it) does it then need to be tech 2'd afterwards, mine seems to be a bit intermittent as I noticed today and also noticed a very fine line of what I can only call dead pixels on the display, at quick glance barely noticeable but it's there, maybe the cold weather is causing it all to act up, I don't know.

if you have a GID and wiper stalk all ready, and change for new one then NO.. only if GID comes from a completly different car.. so the code index need change.

Just fitted a new stalk £20 from vauxhall it's the one with buttons on the end etc (the more sophisticated one!!) seemed to be working well until about the tenth press and then missed a beat as it were, but much better, really is a bad setup there with the way the connections are made, can easily become intermittent, anyway I'll see how this one goes.
