    Default Boot unlock switch

Hi, my 08 vec (lighter for all the cool features removed) doesn't have the boot unlock button on door controls (just separate lock and unlock buttons!) and just a single window switch on the passenger side. The key has two buttons, lock and unlock.

It's so annoying that the boot always locks itself and I have to close the doors to lock and unlock the car.

Does anyone know or has anyone tried to 1. fit a earlier switch with the boot release on the control panel on the drivers door or 2. brought a 3 button remote with boot release to unlock the boot from the key?

Is it as simple as plug and play or is the wiring different to stop this function working on newer cars?

    Thanks!

With my 06 Vecta, I just press the button in on the boot and it unlocks. I thought Vaux did away with the auto locking boot sometime around late 2004 or 2005?

I have the boot unlock button. I melted it when putting White SMD's in so got another. It turned out I got one from a later model like yours with no button to unlock but instead it had a different button, it might have been the master unlock of all the doors, anyhow, when I plugged it in it still unlocked the boot. So the switch makes no difference, its just a different symbol on the button.

My boot always locks and doesn't unlock always when you get out - so you walk around to the back and its locked. Unless you close all the doors and lock and unlock, the boot does not unlock, hence the frustration.

Does anyone elses doors lock automatically when driving, as maybe this effects the locked boot? They unlock when you take the key out the ignition, but not always the boot!

Have you got the remote central locking set to open one door when you press the plipper once, and all doors, boot and fuel flap on two presses?

That may well be the problem. If it is, then you need to change the plipper settings to unlock all doors on one press.

Nope, one click all doors, and the auto speed lock. It doesn't always do it- its not a consistent problem, just picks and chooses (usually when I am in a hurry!!)
