This is the write up of the charity detail that phil,ed and myself did on my 2.2 elite.
This was done for The Mary Stevens Hospice and phil is also doing a walk which anyone can make donations to if they have not already done so.
Note the pic of bonnet, and the difference later on.
First of all i had a 3 hour drive from geordieland down to west midlands which got the car nice and dirty so it was out with the strong stuff (APC) under the wheel arches and (Megs wheel brightner and gold class soap) on the wheels themselves.
After that it was a good old fashioned hand wash all over the car.
Then the fun started when they got the snowfoam out,i thought xmas had come early.lol
After leaving to soak for a few minutes that was washed off and all the bodywork was clayed using sonus claybars. Some of the tar marks needed abit more so AG intensive tar remover was used.
The car was then washed again and dried using drying towels.
We then tackled the swirl marks using two porter cable machine polishers and megs #83 followed by megs #82.There weren't too many swirls to remove so didn't take long.
Then we put a coat of Finnish Kare KP1000P to seal the paint and just for abit of overkill some Colinite 912 was used to finish off.
Finally the windows were polished using Einszett glass polish, the black plastic got a coat of back to black, under the wheel arches got some CG bare bones undercarriage treatment, the wheels were given a coat of sealant and the tyres got megs gel shine.
Once again guys thanx very much and see you soon.
