    Default Auto lights

My auto lights seem to be not working fully. when i was driving into work today the only way the lights would go off is if the sun was right on the front of the car. if i went under a bridge or some trees got in the way they came back on, i have noticed this for the past week now. is there a sensor some where that might need a clean or something.

i think the sensor is the little bubble in the middle of the dash and i might just have been dull enough when the sun wasn't shining directly on to your car to warrent them coming on ....iv got mine set to auto and i don't really notice when they come on anymore think i'm just used to it now

They will come on and off as they work off a fixed lux level. Its winter and its darker out

Mine have been working OK for the last six months or so, but for the last couple of days they have been coming on all the time. I take the point about it being winter now, but today for example is very sunny, not dull or overcast at all, and the lights are still coming on.

Does anyone know where the sensor actually is? I'm wondering if mine is dirty so it thinks it's always night time.

So that's what that bubble is for. I thought that was something to do with traffic flow for the sat nav or something.
