Default 1.9 CDTI SRI - Parking Sensors

    Hi Guys,

just picked up a 58 plate vectra 1.9 CDTI (120ps) SRI today, and wow what a car, totally impressed with it so far, pulls like a train.

As part of my deal I asked for OEM parking sensors(Rear) to be fitted to the car, but I am not sure if they have fitted OEM ones or aftermarket ones.

When I put the car in reverse I hear the beeps from the rear passanger side of the car, and I don't have the 'P' button on the dash, at the radio for them either.

I was under the impression that the beeps should come from the car speakers, and the 'P' button should be there if OEM, even if its only the rear sensors????

Also my stearo is the CD30 one, but dosnt seem to play MP3 cd's, which is a bummer, what OEM stearos support this?

Thanks guys for any help you can give

The VX aftermarket kit, does as you describe there. the OEM kit comes from the center of the roof rear. If you had a switch yes then you would be able to turn them off.

not to sure about the reversing sensors as i fitted a £20 set off eBay, and they sound like what you have. i have never seen the oem fitted ones.

as for the cd player the cd30 MP3 is the model that has believe it or not MP3 play back.

Thanks m8, so my dealer wasnt pulling a fast one then!, no biggie though dont need the button, just with me specifing OEM I would get it and it would beep through my Stereo.

Thanks for the info on the HU as well, a must have I think, pity they dont do the IPOD via direct control, i.e able to change song etc through the HU, hence why next best thing is MP3.

    Cheers again m8.

Not even OEM would go through the speakers... but will still have its own speaker in the boot. just at a different place than it is now.
