    Default Airbox mod!

Just tried doing the airbox mod, couldn't get the plastic cover off, I undid the 5 torx screws, but I left the intake pipe clipped in, because it seemed to be moving with the plastic case, but the dam thing just wouldn't come off! I drive a 2.2 LS 52 reg, kinda different from the How 2's on here, so anyone could give me a little bit of help?

    Cheers, Danny.

As long as all the screws are completely undone the lid section is not retained by anything else. It'll just be a matter of showing it who's boss. If it's on that tight it does make you wonder either how long it's been on there or if someone used anything 'extra' to seal it ?

It seems to be stuck towards the front of the car, as if there's another torx screw, though upon checking, there isn't. On the driver's side of the airbox case, there are like some clips, as if it holds in there, though they was loose also, I stopped trying when I snapped one of these off accidentally, figured i'd ask for some expert advice!

Not sure about yours fella, but there is a further screw under the pipes on mine. Take the intake pipe off, it's only a jubilee clip

Well I couldn't see one, took off 5 torx screws in total! I say take off, they stayed in, kinda handy so I didn't lose 'em lol.

Just taken a gander at the box in my 3.2.... along the outside/wing edge, the lid section hinges..... try removing the box to engine air hose then you should find it easier to open the box.
