    Default Bulb Always On..

Ive bought of of these from ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT to replace my Cigaratte illumination ring bulb. However once fitted it always stays on...!

When i put the old bulb back in its not on, but the new bulb is, when i open the head lights or the door than it lights up fully, but with everything on its on but dim

So i hooked up a DMM and checked the voltage, its getting around 3 v when nothings on.. with that voltage the standard bulb does not light, but the new one does! Is it ok to still fit the new one in.. i mean i dont want my battery to go flat...

    Any suggestions welcome

but then it wont go with my Blue LED conversion! Theres no way im going to be reminded of my old yellowy dash by one bulb

there are a few solutions i can think of..

1 - put in an inline resister with the bulb
2 - take the live off the cigarette lighter
3 - Get another bulb! ( Too time consuming since i have to order online.. )

I think the resister is the one that'll work mate, it's something to do with the can bus system and leds
