Airbox mod is probably better and cheaper (i.e free 2 minute job). Looks like a con to me.
Oh dear, these things aren't really good news at all. All they do is fool the ecu into pumping more petrol into the engine and can damge the engine, ecu, electrics, cat and the list can go on. Tell him to use it at his own risk but i'd have it as far away from my car as possible
Thats what i thought. Looks dodgy to me.
Cheers feller's.
yes its a little resistor in a box tell mass air that getting constant cold air more fuel gets pushed through and yes car is more responsive but not more economical. These units sell on ebay for 10 - 15 quid you can get the part inside the box for 79p.
God are these still doing the rounds... extra 20 bhp!!!! lol...
Did he buy a "turbo action spinning induction kit" too...
stay away from them! Whe i bought my vRS, someone had put one of these "chips" on it...........few days later my fuel pressure sensor went and my intake was getting clogged up. and she was very very smoggy!
Took it to the garage and they said it'll do more harm than good. They didnt know it had been fitted in the 1st place.
Just personal experience............
i fell for this some years ago and received a single resistor in the post. wasn't best pleased and never bothered to put it on
I found this Trawling through the internet.
Thought they didn't do a plug and play box for the dti.
