vauxhall stereos

I am on my second cdr2005 after having the original replaced under warranty now this ones playing up and wont play cds.

going into dealer soon to get another but want to upgrade if poss. Anyone know which of the standard vauxhall stereos would fit my car 2004 sri?

I was thinking of either the cdr2006 or the cd30 mp3 any thoughts?

ccr2006 will be straight in. Cost to the dealer is about £300. List price is well over £400 I know this as i got compo from my dealer for cracking my windscreen last year. That's the only other model that will go so you are limited.

are you sure,,

as i replaced my 2005 for a 2006 and the cage is different, the slot that seperates the two internal sections is out by a few mm's, making it impossible to insert the 2006 all the way,,

this is what i found anyway

The new cage will come with the unit , mine did anyway, what i meant by straight in was the compatability with the car.

i had a used one that had no cage, lol ( now ' modified ' )

just didnt want anyone to **** up their new one

I would, the latest Alpines are excellent. I believe they are due to launch the latest wiring interface for the Vectra also. Check they have before going down the Alpine route. Having said that Sony have kit already out that supports both steering controls and display. Be aware though that the Vectra display only has twelve didits or so across the top so long track names will be shortened.

cheers paul. i've seen a blaupunkt mp3 player that looked quite good but going to take my time. got a kenwood 10 disc changer and cassette head unit but head unit aint compattible with adaptors.
