    Default electrician or handyman ox18

    dont suppose any of you fine people are electricians or jandy putting up 2 ceiling lights..I was all for putting them up my self until I have stumbled at securing the base of the light to the ceiling.. the wiring isnt a problem but I need to know how to secure the crossbar to the ceiling as the plastic box thingie is in the way and i dont know what to do...
    if anyone is local to OX18 area I would be very grateful of any help!

    Hi Dwabo, Dont suppose you can post a picture? If the plastic thingy is the ceiling rose base you may need to remove it and use connector blocks.

    Its what I have done in the past. Remove all the existing plastic, making sure you do not mix the wires up as one is black with a red tag - normally - as its the switch wire from the wall switch. Without this your lights won't work!

    Put them all in connector blocks, secure the new cross bar using the old holes/screws into the joist above, connect away and test
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!
