    Default Air Box mod

    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15122

Just done this an hour ago took 5 min and and initial test drive seems to have cured the flat spot i was having in first gear under 1500 rpm pulls better with lower revs and seems a bit smoother, also watch the plastic clips as i broke the bottom left hand one taking it out tried so hard not too as it was mentioned in a previous post, but all going well I wont need to put it back in and if i do a little bit of super glue will do nicely. Also will the ecu learn through driving that there is more air flow and auto adjust or will i need to disconnect the battery for it to learn.

it will auto learn through driving - it will take longer than disconnecting the battery = but less hassle as you dont need to recode the radio and relearn the auto shut/ open on the windows - and its more fun as your driving it rather than standing around for 10 mins waiting for everything to clear out/down

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

When you take it for a service..... expect them to get on their high horse saying "people think it gives more power, but it's nonsense".

A response like this will normally shut them up, "no it doesn't increase power, it simply alters the torque characteristics to provide a more linear power delivery, it was only fitted in the first place to get the car to compete on fuel economy with it's nearest rivals like the Mondeo"

Some truth, some waffle.... But they look at you like "oh crap this guy knows his stuff"

I must be doing something wrong, last time I worked my MPG out, I got about 33 MPG in a 2.2 16v, motorway and short urban drive :s
