Windscreen Condensation

Hope someone can help.

I've had my car for a few years and have just started notice the condensation along the bottom of my winscreen. Is this normal?

The blowers demist the screen but doesn't touch the condensation.

Could this be a window seal?

Should i add it onto my list of warranty work to be done?

Have a look at the pollen filter mate, it might be clogged up with stuff or holding water?

never thought about that - i'll have a check when i get in from work.

mine suffers really bad from condensation in the winter ...pollen filter is clean and drain holes are free also the rear window does the same
i'v checked everywhere and can't see any water or damp patches in the car at all

I've just started getting this with my rear windscreen in the morning and early evening but it covers the whole screen. Could the pollen filter be responsible for this too? If so, how do I go about checking it?

Just found a Vectra-C.com 'how to' for replacing the pollen filter so will have a look when I get time.

I just don't think they're very well ventilated at all.

Stick the aircon on and set it to recirculate for 10 mins, that'll sort it out for a day or two as it dehumidifies the air that's inside the car instead of drawing fresh damp air in.

for those of you without leaks still suffering - do you have rubber mats ??


if so then one of the main problems with rubber is water/moisture will not absorb into it like it does with carpets - when the car warms up the moisture evaporates and wanders around your car happy in the knowledge that when it cools down its going to stick to the largest coldest thing in there ....yep front and rear screens -

- when you get back into the car and turn on heated rear screen and blowers on the front the process starts all over again - evaporates and waits till cool to condensate again.....

the best thing you can do is to dry the excess moisture from the screens (front and rear) before you do anything else - dispose of the damp tissues /cloths (in a bin not in the door pocket)...then run the ac on recircuate to help remove any additional excess moisture from the car - then invest in carpet mats as the problem seems to not happen as much as the excess moisture is absorbed rather than sitting on top of the mat

Where exactly are the 'drain holes' you mention?
