can any one advice me on the best code reader for my 2.2 dti sri. i have looked at the vaux com ones from china. as anyone got one or used one are they any good ?. i need one that not only dose engine codes but body and abs. i have a very sick car.

buy a genuine code reader s the ones you buy from ebay are fakes/copies of genuine software and may not be complete - so could do irreprable damage to your car - there is a self test mode without the use of a code reader -

which would be the quickest way to obtain a fault code which would allow someone on here to help you sooner - rather than purchaing pirated software which this site does not approve of or condone

Doesn't work on the DTi Dez, been there done that. Not alot of cheap code readers work on the DTi either (they are a funny breed).Originally Posted by deztroyer

I'm on the lookout for one for the DTi as I get limp home mode when towing the caravan and need to check codes
humph - sorry guys - just steer well clear of dodgy pirated opcoms in that case

tryed that way to read codes dose not work.their must be a resonable priced code reader that works on dti.
Try SEARCH and type in Code Readers...lots of posts/threads come up on he subject...you might find something useful that way...cheers
Fraid not, the only posts I can find are about people who are either looking for a DTi code reader or have bought one and it doesn't work
Ive got one of those cheap Hong Kong one from ebay, and it works perfect on my 2.2 DTi
