Change Glow Plugs on 120 CDTI

I have about 2 hours to change my glow plugs over tomorrow so I thought I'd do a bit forward planning. Am I gonna need female torx bits and deep sockets, the only tools I haven't got? Any info welcomed - cheers.

Well it's not been starting in the cold mornings very well and it's draining my battery trying to start it.

are you getting a warning light as they are monitored for a failure. is not then i would check else where as u might be wasting your money

There's no warning light, it's due a service anyway so I thought I'd change them. With it not starting though I've really got to sort it asap as it's the family car. It starts fine when warm, it just seems to be in the cold mornings. It turns over but takes a while to fire and after about 5 attempts the battery dies So I'm putting the battery on charge overnight and taking a half day to replace the glow plugs tomorrow. I did notice today after a jump start -steam coming from the engine bay, I hope it's not related. It went away after a little run - temp and water levels are OK.

Any advice on the glow plugs then or are they straight forward?

they are staight forward best to get a deep socket though as they can be very tight

take the egr valve of to get to cyl 4 and for cy1 & 2 their is a small fuel block on the manifold that might need to come off its held by two t30 torq bolts. even then a little fiddley
