    Default Hand brake recall

    Just been to the local dealers to have th recall done on the hand brake........Feels like there is more tension on it now.....i didnt even know this had nt been done already.....It only took them 20 mins....

    Hello m8 , thats all i did just gave them a ring....Mine is a 54 plate and i have had it 2 yrs....and it had nt been done asked if anythin else needed doin and there wasnt.........

    look under the hand brake arm and you will see a silver clip/spring with a curly end, took my dealer 2 mins to do and me 5 to remove. hated it felt like a tranny van.

    Hi Wizard..You'd need to remove the handbrake release button, grip & lower trim panel to do get at it don't you???? If so If so I'd be interested to know how difficult it is to remove the plastic pivots from the lower plastic trim panel.....I am interested in the handbrake issue I have....the attached post will give the reason why...any advice would be gratefully received....cheers

    no, the clip/spring is easily fitted by hand and only takes two minutes no more!! removal is a little fiddly, push seat right back + lower. press brake pedal and apply handbrake firmly, look under the handbrake and you will see a silver v shaped clip/spring, pliers are best to jiggle unclip and remove. obviously it is a safety enhanced part mainly to aid persons not applying the handbrake correctly so if your happy with the feel leave it .
