    Default warning light

was reversing out of the drive this morning and the power steering failed and steering wheel light came on in the dash, turned engine off then restarted engine, light off and steering fine, should i be worried or just a glitch, was reading on here something about cim being slow to react, hopefully all will be fine, by the way is the power steering pump electric on the 2.0 dti 04

Yes the power steering on the Vec c is the electro mechanical set up. On my 1.9 the pump and fluid container is mounted low down under the diesel filter housing behind the engine. If yours is not there it will be tucked away inside the drivers side front wing under the headlamp. You will probably have to remove the wheel arch liner if you need to check the fluid level.

    Default power steering warning light

    Hi
seems like a common problem. my 2.0 dti had the same problem the lights still on but it drives perfect. Yes your right it is electric but there is a a filler bottle sat on top of the pump. it is located behind the driver side headlight. very hard to get to. I took off the wheel and then the mudgaurd to get to it. Try topping up the fluid. Honestly ive been driving my car for nearly 2 months with the light on.

I would normally use automatic transmission fluid to top up the power steering bottle.
