Default Cheap Central Locking Alarm/Fob/Unit-WHERE CAN I BUY?

    Hello all,

After finally getting the misses a small Fiesta Mk 5, one of the problem I knew about was the drivers door lock wouldnt unlock the door nor the central locking. So, at the moment, we are having to go round to the passenger side and unclock the CL and then walk back round to the drivers side. PAIN!!

Anyway, I stripped the door panel down only to reveal that the lock in concealed by a metal plate and it looks like the only feasible way to get to it is to strip the entire door down of all the mechanisms etc, and I cant be asked messing with that!

Some folks on here have said that Demon Tweeks and LMF do a CL locking unit/device with a fob, which is what would be perfect. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I dont really need/want an alarm, I just want a remote central locking fob as that would eliminate the need for me to mess about with the door lock, etc. If I do go down the alarm route, CAN YOU PLEASE recommend me a cheap RCL alarm system, dont really need an immobilizer as all I want to utilise then would be the Alarm function and RCL.

Is there such a thing that would allow remote central locking without an alarm? If so, please me!

As you can imagine, this walk around system doesnt wash very well with the !!

    Enough said hey !!

If its something you want to fit your self, maplin.co.uk do cheap alarms. I think they come with imobalisers but if you do need that bit, just ignore it!!

I was looking at these things....would this work: http://www.virtualvillage.co.uk/car-...cking-kit.html

Some of these systems come with the solenoids, but I cant have them as I cant get to the lock anyway!

Would think the ebay jobs would be what you are after. Just a matter of finding the right wires and connecting to them.
Not fitted anything like that in a long time, last one was a central locking conversion on Nova which was operated from the alarm.

Looks like the same kit at half the price, so I don't see why not. Could be a cheap option to repair the central locking system. I would imagine you can wire this into the central locking switch inside the car.

I have been advised by the Fiesta Owners Club that I should try to strip the metal plate off the lock first, I will give tham a hammer tomorrow, if that fails, I will more than likely go for one of these units!

Just out of interest, has anyone EVER fitted one of these?
