    Question Uprating brakes

I'm thinking of remapping in the new year, and am wanting to do the brakes before hand. I'm pretty certain the stock ones won't like another 40ish bhp going through them.

I'm toying with Redstuff pads.....any other suggestions?

The brakes are stock brakes for a CDTi 150 SRi.

    Ta.

You might do better getting bigger front disks and pads. Like 314's. They'll stop you better with standard pads than uprating the pads on the 284's you have.

New calipers involved in that or just the disc/pad combo?

I agree, if you are upgrading the engine, then also upgrade the front and rear brakes
However, be aware the 314mm / 292mm pad and discs sets are cheaper than the pads only!

New calipers I'm afraid. 302's require the same, but are cheaper than 314's and will also give you much improved stopping power. I had 302's on my 2.0T and upgraded to 314's, to go with my remap.

    Default brakes

yes the calipers will have to be changed as there are bigger i had the 280's on mine and i started looking the 302/314 but i tried a bit harder and found some low mileage 345mm discs and calipers and the rear 292s
they came of a police pursuit car that had been damaged all for £450 i also added HEL braided brake lines stops alot quicker now
