    Default MOT passed!

As said above, my 54 plate Vec 1.9 CDTi 150 passed it's MOT with flying colours on Friday. Just a couple of things noted, one of which I knew about already (delaminating front numberplate).

Now, they have advised me that the front tyres need replacing as they are close to the legal limit (I don't want to be running them to the wear indicators just as the weather turns decidedly wintery!)

I have had a good search through the threads on here about people's preferences and have been offered the following from my local tyre place:

    Goodyear F1 Assymetric

    Continental Sportcontact3

    Avon ZV5

    Nexen something

Does anyone have any thoughts on the above? My main priorities are wet weather performance, general grip and a tyre that won't need replacing in a months time!

I have also looked at the Falken 452. Any good?

Result on the MOT pass mate, with regards to the tyres, I run my veccy on the Falken 452's had them on for just over a year now and hardly any wear , but having said that I don't do the mileage I used to, so have only done around 5-6000 thousand on them HTH

Always a relief to pass the dreaded MOT. I was worried that the HIDs would be a bone of contention, but the tester didn't mention them. Nice.

Will take a harder look at the Falkens - seem like a good price to me.
