Debadging

Any tips on debadging appreciated - have read the how to and suppose what I really need to know is temperature guidance - could I use a hair dryer to really heat up the badge without damaging the paint or if hot water is the way forward can it be boiling or just 'hot'?

Thanks - I had read the how to but was after any alternatives to the water really, e.g anyone used a hair dryer and how hot would something have to be to start damaging the paint work? If water is best was it straight from a boiling kettle?

debadged the back easy enough using credit type card then used nail polish remover to get the sticky gunk off

you can use a hair drier - but the glue gets too hot as does the plastic badges that you risk burning your fingers as they stick to you when your trying to remove them

i used a circuit contact degreaser to remove any residue left by the badge - worked well - but will remove the "finish" of your sealant/wax so need to be reapplied

mate if you read the how2 and the thread that comes with it you would know the answer lol...hair dryer and tesco club card mate no probs obviously dont over do the heat it doesnt need much to get badges off apparently if you use tar remover it help get rid of the glue easier i just took my time then polished eares where badges came off looks good, heres a pic..

i debadged mine again today,this time round it was easier,slip a card behin the badges,prize them off and,if it was anythin like how i done it,the sticky bit if you manage to leave it decently whole if you get what i mean you can peel it off and just give it a wipe over then a polish.took me 5 minutes today.and if your having difficulty,then some auto glym tar remover and hot water out the tap will take care of that.

exactly mate not a hard job but non the less a bit nerve racking lol til they are all off and and cars polished lol...

get a piece of fine nylon wire fishing reel wire best simply slide behind and use a sawing actoin brings em of a treat

boil the kettle up, tip the water over the badge, use the trusty old clubcard to get the excess off and then use autoglym tar remover to get the last off.
