Have had and I think I still very slightly have on full lock a leack on the steering rack

Took it to my loacl garage guy and he told me best part of £300 for a reconditioned one.

However for £7 he bought a liquid that you put into the fluid that thicken up the break fliud and sels minor holes.

Got me througha MOT Not sure what its called by it states that it works in 99% of racks. Ask in a wilco or similar.

Hope this helps, any good with faulty horns please see my thread as I'm stuck. Cheers

Hi, had a leak from my vec B a few yers ago, fluid was dripping from the rack. My local friendly mechanic syphoned out about half of the fluid from the reservoir and added a tin of Wynn's Automatic Transmission and Power Steering Stop Leak and Conditioner. Leak stopped almost immediately and drove for 2 years without losing a drop. Brill stuff - saved me a lot of dosh!

I was affraid to add any of these stop leak fluids, not sure whether it would have worked on Vectra C.
I've replaced mine now with reconditioned one. Leak sorted and there was slight play which has dissapeared now. Overall it handles better.

I had to replace mine with a reconditioned rack a little while back due to leaking - common issue on these cars unfortunately.
