Thread: CDTi 150 had a trip to Vx today.....

    Default CDTi 150 had a trip to Vx today.....

    ..........for the wobble at idle and the flat spot under 2k rpm.

    Basically they have now said to me that it would be a good idea to replace the injector wiring on the remaining 3 injectors!! Of course I will be doing this myself. They said to me that when Vx do them, they do all 4 at the same time rather than 1.

    If that doesnt resolve the problem then I am looking down the injector route, which are not cheap!

    Please pray for me people!!

    Good luck mate, all the best !! Are the dealers being helpfull with it ? Or do they just 'have a look' at it ?

    Well, the sneaky thing is I know someone who knows the manager and he does be brutally honest with me. He said IF I can do the wiring myself, DIY it and save a few quid.

    IF that doesnt resolve the problem, then he will have a look into the Injectors for me.

    They did strip the EGR Valve down and clean it all up for me but to no avail, and thats where he pointed me towards.

    He has usually been right so I hope he comes up trumps again!

    Cheers Mark.....if this dont work, then im going to mug someone at Vx as I aint paying £300.00 an Injector!!

    TBH, ive actually thought about writing to Vx as the car has just reached its 4th Birthday, has less than 30k miles on it and has been serviced 3 times too, has had loads of warranty work done to it so its basically a Vx design fault!

    I have been watching Watchdog over the past few weeks and they have been talking about Renault's with dodgy dash's, im thinking I may write to Watchdog and say that there are loads of member HERE that have a common problem with their 150 CDTi's......there is deffo some correlation there!! Maybe a kick up the butt is what is required?

    What you think?

    We have 82 members in THIS thread who have a flat spot problem, so alarm bells should ring..... !

    changing the other 3 injector wiring looms wont really help matters i think It could well be one of the injectors itself. Get them flow rate tested and if that proves ok you could remove them and send them off to get the spray pattern checked, Theres 2 patterns/settings for these injectors, pattern 1 is for idling and pattern 2 is for above idle speeds. (thus each injector having 2 wires going to them)

    Ahh, I see. Problem is, IF I get Vx to check that for me, they are going to ask em to stump up some cash for that, hence the chaps comments to eliminate the wiring problem by DIY'ing it.

    The guy at Vx is a very sincere bloke so doubt he would mess me about, he actually said that whenever they have a similar issue, they always change all 4 wires and that usually solves it, he said very rarely do they come back with the same problem and then have injectors done!

    I dont know where to go from here, shall I just do the wires or do what you say plasma?

    You can do the others if you like just for peace of mind but i've not heard of a single other car requring it to be done, but as its most likely to be the cheapest of the options to go for so far you might as well do it just to eliminate from the list.
