Thats a bit harsh mate. What you have to understand is thats the sort of humour he puts out. I'm assuming the joke has probably hit a personel nerve, but I bet you've laughed many a time at a joke by him for something which is not personel to you but might be to someone else and you've never even thought of it. I agree, it was slightly below the belt but i'm sure many a squaddie laughed at it too.

My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

I think its just all about sense of humour and if you dont agree just put it too the side.

I think its the style of Jimmy Carrs comedy, He is a very racist and sexist man but it sort of adds to the humour and i personally dont think people take it to heart as they only see it as comedy!

As said already, a bit harsh really as the whole thing has been taken out of perspective as usual as soon as the PC Brigade became involved and started complaining.. There was a Radio show over the weekend that had a phone in about this joke and a lot of squaddies phoned in and they all thought the joke was funny for several reasons
    1) its was a jibe at the governments major lack of equipment for our troops,
    2) some of the squaddies that called in told about similar stories, one in particular of a Cook named Big Tom who had both his legs blown off below the knees, His mates now call him Little Tom..

Not my type of joke at all, but if the people it concerns are ok with it then why shouldn't I be..

The PC brigade and the people who complain at every given opportunity are the people who need looking into, not the normal person..

Carr, 37, said last night: ďIíve told this joke around the country to all types of people including ex-servicemen who all laugh.

ďIíve got nothing but respect for the men and women who put their lives on the line for this country. Iíve visited the military hospital at Selly Oak, Birmingham, and the rehabilitation centre on many occasions to meet seriously injured young men.

ďI will continue to support them in any way I can. My thoughts are with the servicemen and their families, especially on Remembrance Sunday.

ďIím sorry if anyone was offended but thatís the kind of comedy I do. If a silly joke draws attention to the plight of these men then so much the better but that was not my intention. My intention was only to make people laugh. Iíve got nothing but admiration for the inspirational athletes in the Paralympics.Ē (The Sunday Express 25/10/09)

As above the PC brigade are driving humour underground, we are too scared to voice comment on too many things, what happened to good old freedom of speech and let others decide for themselves?
