Default How often do i need to clay, polish and seal?

I'm going to try and follow the detailing guide by "stevel" it so i've started collecting products.
As this process will take a long time I guess I wont need to do all the stages every time I wash the car.

    1. How often should Clay, Polish and Seal?

    2. Is a wax top up enough for general washing?

imo - claying needs to be done every 6 months, but it relative to your situation..

how much fallout is there, do you park near trees and so on.

with regards to polish and sealing, it all depends on how much time you have..

Zaino recomend that you use fairy liquid for the first ever time, fairy is usually never use, but on this occasion you do actually need it to strip any previous off the car.

the best thing for a top up is a detailing spray, I just bought z8 and I can honestly say that it works a treat.

follow the link on my signature - that will be the best advice you could ever get. just make sure you have money...hahaha.

    I do this...:

    pw the loose bits off
then snowfoam, wash mitt any stubborn bits off
    then shampoo - 2 buckets
    then rinse but dont dry
    then clay (see above)
then rinse again - shampoo if you've used a clay lube
    then dry
    then polish
    then wax / sealant
    then trim / glass.

obviously wheels have to be done, but I haven't included them in the list.

I can get it done in 2.5 hours min, 4 hours max.

    good luck.

i clay about every 12 month's followed by a paint cleaner polish and wax, i also use quick detailer to help dry the car after each wash as this is like a wax top up so to speak, i wax the car about every 2.5 - 3 month's cos i use colonite 915 and it last's about that long...

dont think there are to many clay bars that work with water only ...........if youve have an Autosmart dealership near you get some of their reglaze, this works out at £12 a bottle but waters down to make at least 12 bottles of detailing spray

I wouldn't do it with just water, I would buy a 99p sprayer and mix water with car shampoo - much better and way cheaper....
