    Eek Fancy 480 Lb/ft Torque?

Results are back from Thorney Motorsport....

Evyboy's Vectra VXR makes 323.5 BHP and 480 Lb/ft torque (thats 100 Lb/ft more than the current BMW M5 which has just 383 Lb/ft torque!!)

Here is the chart (Blue Line - Standard 280 Vectra VXR, Red Line = Tuned Vectra VXR)

    More information here...

Prices from Thorney are as follows :-

    £800 - Miltech Exhaust System + Fitting
    £500 - Engine Remap
    £1500 - Intercooler + Fitting
    £500 - Racing Clutch + Fitting

Optional Quaiffe LSD is recommended for the higher 500 Lb/ft settings.

    Turbo remains standard OEM

Didn't they get it higher but it blew the clutch?

Correct, it caused the clutch to slip... so they had to de-tune it, which is why they recommend a racing clutch and Quaiffe LSD to strengthen everything

Spoke with John Thorney today who confirmed that (with a bit more work) the Vectra VXR engine is good for:-

    450 BHP
    600 Lb/ft

    Yes please, that'd be tremendous.
But I don't think my 400Nm F40 'box would be too pleased about this

This is just a temporary measure imo. Would become very expensive indeed in the short - mid term.
Why not revel in the ~400lb.ft that's already pushing the boat out a bit, with some degree of reliability.

I've got no spare money as I've just bought a new car and awaiting delivery at the moment

The VXR will have to wait a bit before it gets my attention again

EDIT: Will want to see what Courtenays offer as well first ... but it is all tempting stuff isnt it
